365,160. Transformer &c. cores. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Oct. 14, 1930, No. 30750. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1929. [Class 38 (ii).] In making transformer and like cores by coiling a strip of high permeability alloy requiring heat-treatment, the strip is wound without applying insulation between the convolutions, heat-treatment is then carried out, and finally insulation is effected by impregnation with a liquid insulating medium that subsequently hardens ; e.g. the completed core is immersed under vacuum conditions in liquefied paraffin, asphalt, varnish, phenol products, &c.
