Abstract

364,499. Oiling yarn &c. during winding &c. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.-GES., Horgen, near Zurich, Switzerland. June 1, 1931, No. 15967. Convention date, Sept. 4, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] In a thread or yarn oiling device for use with wind ing or spooling apparatus in which the thread guide 7 varies the amount of contact betweer an oil roller 11 and the thread &c., movable thread guides 16 are dis. posed above and below the oil rollei 11 and are connected through a guided link 17 to a lever 18 which is linked to the thread guide 7 by a rod 19 and adjustable lever 20, the thread guide, as it moves clockwise with the increasing diameter of the spool, drawing the thread guides 16 nearer the roll 11 to increase the arc of contact between the roll and the thread. A wick 15 surrounds the roll 11 and dips into an oil reservoir 14 to supply oil to the thread. In a modification, the oil roll is independently and continuously rotated.
