Abstract

<PICT:0410432/IV/1> In a process for spooling freshly spun wet artificial silk the filament 4 is guided by means of a roller 5 to a twisting spindle 1 which is driven so slowly that a twist is imparted to the filament of only at most 20 turns per metre. The silk passes over the roller 5 and through a guide eye 6 and is spooled on a bobbin 2 mounted on the spindle 1 and centred by a cap 3. The twisting is effected by a traveller 7 mounted on a ring 8 moved up and down by a lifter device 9.
