Abstract

364,330. Friction clutches. SEEBERGER, F., 7, Ramistrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Dec. 29, 1930, No. 39102. Convention date, Dec. 27, 1929. [Class 80 (ii).] In a friction clutch engaged by a stationary electromagnet 10, 11, friction members 2, 3, provided with one or more frictionfaced annular conical projections and coacting recesses, are mounted on carriers 1 secured to the driving and driven shafts, one or both friction members being slidable thereon. The members 2, 3 are separated, to an extent limited by stops 12, by springs 9 acting on rings 8, and the air gap 6 is adjusted by an axially displaceable ring 4. The ring 4 is screwed on the part 3 and locked in various positions by a key 5 engaging one of a series of keyways in the ring. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a form in which the ring 4 is smooth-bored and secured by screws to a flange on the part 3 with an interposed exchangeable packing-ring. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
