Abstract

571,432. Actuating clutches. TARLTON, F. H. Jan. 1, 1942, Nos. 47 and 9162. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIX] The clutch release pressure is transmitted to the parts of a clutch 10 through a bearing 12, coaxial with the clutch, by means of at least two hydraulic rams 15 spaced around the clutch shaft, but supported independently thereof. The rams are supplied from a common master cylinder 17 so that each has a range of movement unconstrained by the others. Thus slight misalignment between the parts of the mechanism are accommodated.
