Abstract

468,575. Friction clutches. STANLEY, G. E. Jan. 31, 1936, Nos. 2965 and 11043. [Class 80 (ii)] A driven disc 14 is adapted to be clamped between a driving disc 11 and a presser plate 17 which carries pins 27 slidably guided in holes formed in a steel ring 28 bolted to the aluminium cover 12 secured to the disc 11. Light springs 31 arranged on the pins 27 bias the plate 17 in the disengaging direction. Pins 22 slidable in the cover 12 abut against the plate 17, clutch engagement being normally maintained by springs 20 engaging washers 23 on the pins 22, while disengagement is effected by radial levers 25, each of which coacts with a pair of the pins 22. The presser plate 17 is formed with radial slits extending from its outer periphery to arcuate slots 19. Specification 422,816 is referred to.
