[Class 7 (iii).] The carburetter body a comprises a mixture outlet z controlled by a throttle valve n, a secondary air passage b controlled by a valve o connected to the throttle valve and a primary mixture passage d which delivers into the secondary passage through an annular slot m. The primary passage contains a suctionactuated flap s adapted, through a lever k, to raise a fuel valve g loaded by a spring a<1>. This valve is also adapted to be opened upon opening the valves n, o through a forked lever i<1> lifted by a link i actuated by a cam on the shaft o<1>. The control portion of the fuel valve g consists of an interchangeable needle h. Exhaust gases flow through a space c between the primary and secondary chambers.
