Abstract

362,533. Plug and two-part couplings. JOHNSON, J. Y., 47, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Arrow-Hart & Hegeman Electric Co. ; Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A.) Sept. 12, 1930, No. 27296. [Class 38 (i).] The socket of a plug-and-socket coupling is provided with contacts adapted to receive a plug having either circular pins or flat blades. Each contact is formed from a single piece of metal and has three arms 8, 9, 10 with flared upper ends. The arms 9, 10 are hollowed to receive a circular pin. A flat blade is gripped between the arm 8 and the edges of arms 9, 10. Corresponding contacts in the pair of sockets are connected by a strip 13 having a clamping screw 14 for connections. The front of the mounting is formed to facilitate insertion of the plug as described in Specification 355,537.
