362,131. Printing machines. FOWLER, W. C. and BARSON, H., of Forman & Sons, Ltd., Hucknall Road, Nottingham. Nov. 14, 1930, No. 34317. [Class 100 (ii).] Damping-apparatus for lithographic machines.- The supply of water to a lithographic printing- machine is controlled by one or more brushes engaging one of the water-supplying rollers or members of the damping mechanism. As shown, the amount of the water supplied by a fountain roller 3 is regulated by a brush 8 carried by a bracket 10 adjustably secured upon a cross-rod 12. The bracket is in two parts 10c, 10d pivoted together and relatively adjustable to vary the pressure of the brush on the roller 3 by a screw 16 and nuts 18. In a modification the part 10d carrying the brush is pivoted on the rod 12 and adjustably secured to a fixed part 10c by a screw and nuts.
