Abstract

240,956. Wichmann, G. C. H., and Mann & Co., Ltd., G. July 29, 1924. Cylinder offet machines.-A travelling-cylinder offset machine is arranged so as to print by the single or double offset methods, so that like or reversed impressions can be obtained from the printing-surface. The printing-surface 1 is mounted on a vertically adjustable bed, and the travelling offset cylinder 4 transfers its design to a rubber offset surface 5 on a bed 2, or to a sheet placed on the surface 5 or on an impression-surface substituted therefor. The surface 5 is fixed at one end by a clamp 6, and is secured to a reel bar 8 with a ratchet held by a spring-controlled pawl 13. When double offsetting occurs, the roller 4 can be used also as an impression roller for printing an impression on a sheet laid over the offset surface 5 after it has received an impression from the roller 4.
