372,174. Printing-machines. GLASPLAKATEFABRIK OFFENBURG, AKT.- GES., Offenburg, Baden, Germany. July 25, 1931, No. 21312. Convention date, Feb. 20. [Class 100 (ii).] Platen offset machines.-A hand printing- press for printing on sheets of glass comprises a base A upon which a lithographic stone S or a printing-plate of zinc, aluminium, &c. is attached, means for supporting a sheet of glass over the printing surface, and a transfer sheet G of rubber stretched on the underside of a frame E hingedly connected with the base by a spindle C engaged in vertically elongated slots O permitting the frame to adapt itself automatically to the printing-surface and to the surface of the sheet of glass irrespective of the thickness of the latter. The printing-surface is secured to the base A by adjustable clamping devices M. The hinged frame E is secured to adjustable arms D mounted on the spindle C which extends across the width of the machine and is located in the slots O in adjustable bearings B. The rubber sheet G is secured on the frame E by clamping-plates F and is stretched by a tensioning-device H. Bolts J, which are adjustable horizontally and vertically, are mounted on the base A to register with holes formed in a batten K on the frame E. When large sheets of glass are to be printed the overhanging ends are supported on wooden blocks L. When the frame E is lowered to take an inked impression from the printing- surface S and also to print on the glass, pressure is applied by means of rollers &c.
