[Class 100 (ii)] A stencil-printing device for duplicating multi - coloured prints comprises a box formed of two hinged shallow trays 10, 11, a lamp 13 and reflectors 14, 15 in the tray 10 which is fitted with a frame 16, hinged about an axis parallel to the axes of the box hinges 12 and provided on its upper side with a flush glass plate 17. A compound frame 19, 20, to which is detachably secured a cover of fine silk, is pivoted at right angles to the frame 16 and is fitted with a spring 23 which tends to raise the compound frame, and with a fastening device 24 for holding the frame in printing position when a stencil is attached to the silk. The box 11 contains an inking roller 29 held in inactive position by fasteners 30, and a pivoted frame 27 to which are secured sheets of oiled paper or the like for receiving inks of the colour required for rolling upon the roller 29 when this is to be used for the printing operations. To prepare the stencils the compound frame is raised and upon the glass plate 17 is secured by means of a pivoted clip 26 a translucent sheet 33, Fig. 6. Upon this sheet is secured a copy 34 of the design to be printed, a translucent plate 35, and a stencil sheet 36, the whole being held in position by clips 31 normally stored in the box 11. Outlines corresponding to the print and each colour of the same are then cut in the stencil 36. The sheets 34, 35, 36 are then removed and the stencil sheet 36 placed on the translucent sheet 33. The frame 19, 20 is then lowered to bring the silk on to the stencil, and the roller 29 is rolled over the stencil causing it to adhere to the silk and a registration impression to be made on the sheet 33. Stencils corresponding to the individual colours can be cut in a similar manner, the impression on the sheet 33 being employed to guide the cutting operation and also the printing operations when the stencils are used to print multicolour impressions on sheets. The copy 34 may be placed direct on the glass plate 17 under the sheet..33.
