Abstract

752,300. Printing-surfaces. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK AKT.-GES. Sept. 2, 1954 [Sept. 3, 1953], No. 25450/54. Class 100 (2). An arrangement for the positioning and preregistering of type matter, blocks or plates for relief printing formes, by means of which an impression of the inked forme is brought on to a transparent material is characterized in that the transparent sheet is connected to a rigid bar adapted to be removably attached to the printing forme, chase, type bed or forme cylinder. As shown in Fig. 1, a flexible transparent sheet 1 is hinged to a bar 4 which is provided with locating pins 5 adapted to fit into holes 6 provided in the headstick 7 of a chase. Initially all the blocks in the chase are inked and a print taken by lowering the transparent material 1 onto the chase. The transparent material and bar 4 are then taken out and mounted on further chases provided with similar holes 6 for the correct positioning of the colour blocks. By using a flexible transparent sheet 1 the arrangement may be used to register curved blocks 16, 16a on a cylindrical forme 13, the holes 6 being provided in a facet bar 71 extending over the width of the cylinder.
