Inking-apparatus.-An inking-roller for a rotary printing-machine comprises a tube f of flexible material secured at its ends to heads d, d<1>, one of which is movable longitudinally of the shaft a to stretch the tube by a nut c rotatable on the shaft and engaging a threaded portion of the head. The nut is prevented from moving longitudinally by engagement of a flange c<3> thereon in a collar b secured by a set screw b<1>. the collar being constructed in sections to allow insertion of the flange. The roller, or a rubber tube inserted therein, may be charged with air or liquid under pressure.
