Abstract

650,844. Inking-apparatus. TRIGGS, W. W. (Semperit Gummiwerke Akt.-Ges.). Dec. 31, 1947, No. 34998. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 31, 1947.] [Class 100 (ii)] The endless band of an inking apparatus is formed of material possessing complete elasticity of compression and of tension such as rubber, or of hard flexible material such as thin sheet steel, these materials being coupled respectively with the use of rigid (metal) or elastic (rubber) printing formes. As shown, the band 3 is brought into contact with the forme twice by means of the rollers 2, 11 ; an inclined roller 4 serves to distribute the ink and the roller 13 may be axially reciprocable for the same purpose; ink may be supplied from a duct roller via a messenger roller and a train of three rollers, and a supply device of this kind may be associated with each of the rollers 12, 14. The rollers 2, 11 may be arranged as close as possible to reduce the total forme-carriage travel. Embodiments are also shown in which the apparatus is associated with a cylindrical forme, and in which the band 3 passes round two rollers only, one at the inking end and one at the forme end.
