Abstract

400,278. Printing-machines. CRABTREE & SONS, Ltd., R. W., Water Lane, and EVANS, A. B., 7, Woodland Grove, both in Leeds. April 23, 1932, No. 11737. [Class 100 (ii).] In a damping- apparatus for a lithographic printing- machine in which a damping-roller is provided with means for locally adjusting the feed of water thereto along the roller, the feed adjustment is effected by a series of squeeges, scrapers, rollers or the like adapted to be independently brought into and out of action instantaneously by the actuation of corresponding keys. As shown, a series of feed-regulating members e, integral with corresponding keys e<2>, are freely mounted upon a shaft c and are held in the active and inactive positions by a spring-pressed ball e<2> engaging respectively with recesses c<1>, c<2> in the shaft c.
