Abstract

360,696. Dogging mechanism for cop winding-machines &c. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.-GES., Horgen, near Zurich, Switzerland. Nov. 26, 1930, No. 35635. Convention date, Jan. 17. [Class 120 (ii).] A dogging mechanism, permitting movement in one direction along a guide, particularly for textile spooling, winding, and spinning-machines &e. has, interposed between balls, rollers, wedges. &c. and the guide, a member, preferably comprising a resilient split ring 8, distributing the pressure o the balls &c. over a relatively large surface of the guide thus avoiding inequality of wear. The ring 8 is located in a recess in a sleeve 5 slidable on the guide-bar 2, the sleeve 5 and a conically bored sleeve 1 forming a cage for balls 4, a spring 6 tending to press apart the sleeve 5 and a collar 3 also slidable on the bar 2. The collar 3 carries a bracket 12 guided by a bar 11 and carrying a rotatable cone or feeler 13 coacting with the cop. A ring 7 on the sleeve 5 serves as a handle, the clutch being disengaged by sliding the sleeve 5, allowing the ring 8 to expand and be released from the bar 2.
