Abstract
842,569. Textile ring-doubling machines. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A. G. April 3, 1958 [April 6, 1957], No. 10847/58. Class 120(2). A device for controlling the ring-carrier on a ring twister in which the carrier is releasably coupled to a traversing-member and is displaceable in the direction of traverse when it is uncoupled by a control linkage, the linkage has an adjusting member, which after the uncoupling supports the carrier so that its position can be adjusted relatively to the spindle rail according to the position of the linkage. In the form shown, the carrier 9 has a hub 10 coupled to a head 12 on the traverse rail 11 by a latch 15, and the linkage is in the form of a rod 26 extending through an eye in a pivoted lever 27, while the adjusting member takes the form of a bowed member 24. When the rod is pulled outwardly, a nut 33 on its end engages the lever to rotate it to engage a pin 30 to release the latch whereupon the hub falls on a rod 16, being guided by a channel 18 so that the ring engages a resilient stop 17, the rod 26 meanwhile returning under the action of a spring 31. With the ring in this position winding of imperfect thread from the drafting means takes place on a stepped ring or auxiliary bobbin 7. When properly-drafted thread begins to be delivered, the rod 21 is pushed inwardly for the bow 24 to engage a projection 25 to lift the ring to a position where a transfer tail can be wound, after which the rod 21 is further pushed inwardly to lift the ring and associated parts to a position where the latch re-engages the traverse rail which has now descended for normal winding to start, the rod 21 being repositioned by the spring 23.
