Class 120(ii) A double-draft drawing head of a textile spinning machine comprises a preliminary draft system having a series of roller pads a, b; c, d; i, h, and.a porcupine e immediately in advance of the last roller pair i, h, the latter having its top roller i positively loaded so that it constitutes simultaneously the drafting pair for the preliminary system and the feed pair for the main-drafting system which comprises a series of roller pairs o, l; p, m; q, n; u, t, having the top roller u of its last pair positively loaded so that the last pair constitute the drafting pair for the main draft system. The loading may be through a spring B lever j, link y and yoke z, and a tensioned-belt r operating with the free pressure rollers o, p, q, may be included. In an alternative construction, the rollers i and u are separately loaded through a weight and lever system. In a still further modification, a further bottom roller is fitted between the preliminary and main drafting systems.
