Abstract

429,232. Stop-apparatus for spinning and like spindles. PRINCE-SMITH & STELLS, Ltd., Burlington Shed, and SMITH, W. PRINCE-, Hillbrook, both in Keighley, Yorkshire. July 5, 1934, No. 19795. [Class 120 (ii)] In spindle apparatus for textile machines of kind wherein the driving-conneetion between a wharl and a spindle or tube is frictional, such as a cone coupling or clutch, an intermediate member 10, coupled to the bobbin and frictionally engaging the wharl, is adapted to be moved into contact with a stationary surface 13, when disconnected from the wharl by means of a lover 21 operated manually or by means of a resilient shoe carried by a connection 24 from the trap lever, whereby the bobbin is so stopped that its axial stability is ensured and maintained and the normal clearance between it or the internal tube and the rotating member is preserved.
