Abstract

504,054. Rove-stop mechanism for spinning &c. machines. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd., BELL, W. M., and ANDERSON, J. K. Dec. 11, 1937, No. 34330. [Class 120 (ii)] In spinning, twisting, and like machines a frame 3 is loosely mounted on the shaft of the drawing-roller and is normally supported by the engagement of a part 8 of the detector lever 9a with a runner or disc 2. When a yarn breaks, the frame is released and turns about the shaft so that a member 14 is drawn between the rollers. The detector may be maintained in an intermediate position clear of the yarns by the engagement of the runner in a recess or shallow groove 8c in the surface of the part 8, the parts being returned to the normal working position by a rod operated by a hand-lever.
