Abstract

401,551. Delivery-stopping apparatus for spinning, twisting, and like machines. BENZ, E., STUTZ-, Landsberg Warthe, Germany. Feb. 27, 1933, No. 5975. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1932. [Class 120 (ii).] In apparatus for stopping delivery of the roving when a yarn breaks in spinning, twisting, and like machines, a feeler 9, in unstable equilibrium, is arranged so that upon breakage, either immediately it falls or after its fall has become accelerated, it draws a lever 13, in stable equilibrium and connected to the rollerengaging and roving-gripping lever 18, into the path of a driving-member, for example a pin 22 on the pressure roller 4, whereby it is positively actuated. The lever 13 may be connected to the feeler by a slotted connecting- piece 12. A projection 24, Fig. 3, may be formed on the lever 13 so that, when the feeler is raised by hand after piecing, it is engaged by the pin 22 and with the lever 18 is thereby positively returned to the normal position, or the connecting-piece 12 may engage a stop during the returning movement so that it is guided thereby and the parts returned to the normal position.
