Abstract
360,125. Pneumatic separators. NEUMANN, R. G., 28, Bargenstrasse, Wandsbek, near Hamburg, Germany. Sept. 18, 1930, No. 27892. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1929. [Classes 23 and 117.] Apparatus for separating pulverous material such as cocoa powder, consists of a series of cyclone separators f, arranged in a circle around an air filter i to which they are connected by rising pipes g, and connected to a common distributing blower c by rising pipes e and drop pipes k. The products deposited in the separators are returned by rotary air-lock valves p to the distributer and when the process has been completed, valves k<1> in the drop pipes k are closed and valves l<1> in the pipes l are opened to discharge the coarse residue for further treatment. The air filter i consists of fabric tubes enclosed in a casing from which the air is returned to the blower by pipes v connecting with the drop pipes k at p<1>. Air cooling means may be inserted between the pipes, and water cooling may be used when the filter casing is double-walled.
