Abstract

357,579. Lifeboats; fenders. SCHAT, A. P., 66, Hendrik de Keijserstraat, Utrecht, Holland. June 21, 1930, No. 19008. [Classes 113 (i), 113 (ii), and 115.] To facilitate the lowering of ship's lifeboats over the side, the boats are formed with athwart ship projecting structural ribs 3 .. 6 which are lined up to the boats lines by triangular blocks 13 .. 16, the boats being internally stiffened by transverse structures 17, 18. The boats are held in position on inclined chocks 24 by cradles 19 releasably held by the lashing 25. The cradles which are provided with rollers running on the chocks are secured to the boat by cords 30. Specifications 252,014, 255,727, 257,300, 259,148, [all in Class 115, Ships &c., Rigging &c. for], and 347,750 are referred to.
