Abstract
357,486. Vehicle brakes. FOSCHINI, L., 33, Via Ricasoli, Turin, Italy. March 18, 1930, No. 8665. Convention date, March 18, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 103 (i).] Equalizing mechanism for vehicle brakes comprises a rock shaft connected to the brakes which is capable of oscillation transverse to its axis about a point near to the actuating lever. The shaft 7 connected by arms 6, 61 and rods 5, 5<1> to brakes 4 is mounted by a ball-and-socket connection 7<1> on the frame. The actuating pull rod 11 is connected to the shaft by arms 10 so that the actuating force is balanced about the connection 7<1>. When force is applied to the rod 11 to apply the brakes, the shaft 7 in addition to its turning movement about its own axis is free to oscillate about the joint 7<1> resulting in an equalized pull on the rods 5, 51.
