Steering-gear; adjusting bogies for steering.- Steering mechanism for two or more interconnected undercarriages or vehicles comprises, for movement in the direction y, Fig. 4, an arm 3 pivoted on a pin 5 and having a rearward extension 6 connected by a pawl or pin 7 to a lever 8 which is pivoted at 9 and operates the steering wheels. For movement in the reverse direction a similar arm 16, also pivoted on the pin 5 and having an extension 19, is used, the pawl 7 being disengaged from the lever 8 and pawl 11 being inserted to connect the extension 19 to the lever. The arms 3, 16 are respectively actuated by rods 1, 15 connected to the adjacent undercarriages or vehicles. The steering wheels may be mounted on a centrally-pivoted axle or, as shown, on stub axles; in the latter case the lever 8 actuates the track rod 12 by means of a pin 10. The lever 8 is provided with a curved slot for the pin 5, the movement of the lever about its pivot 9 being limited by the slot. Specification 275,704 is referred to.
