[Class 103 (vi)] The invention described in the parent Specification, in which the bogie of a railway vehicle is connected to the body by means of two longitudinal hinge-bars, is modified in that the bogie has no main centre pivot, while the hinge-bars permit the bogie independent lateral and pivotal movements relative to the body. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the hinge-bars 11, 12 are pivoted at their outer ends 13, 14 to a cross-member 16 of the bogie frame 15, while their inner ends 17 are pivoted to a double-arm lever 21 hinged at 20 the vehicle body 19. To prevent undesired swivelling or rolling movements of the bogie, one arm of the lever 21 may be extended at 23 and connected by a link 24 to a vibration-damper 26. In a modification, Fig. 2, the bars 11, 12 are located outside the frame 15 to provide greater accommodation between the frame side-members, and the inner ends 17, 18 of the bars are pivoted to hinged bell-crank levers 29, 30, which are connected by a cross-bar 33 associated with a damper 37. This construction may be modified by arranging the pivots 13, 14 on the vehicle body and the bell-cranks on the bogie. Specification 400,822 is referred to.
