Abstract

Bow collectors; supporting and controlling arrangements for collectors.-In pantograph or bow collectors wherein the tension of the pressing- on spring is adjusted by the driver, one end of the spring is fastened to a lever operated by the driver while the other end engages the lower end of the pantograph frame. In Fig. 1, the bow 57 is carried by a cross-bar 1 having a wedge extension 23 to prevent tipping and connected to rods 2, 3 pivoted at 4 and attached to arms 7, 8. The arms are secured to a cross arm 9 sliding on a guide rod 10. The arm 9 is engaged by a spring 12 mounted on a shaft 12<1> which is rotated by levers 21, 22 and connections 18, 19. In Fig. 4, the loop 24 is resiliently adjustable in a tube 25 mounted on a. stirrup 26 engaging links 27 which carry a cross arm 28 engaged by a spring 29. In Fig. 5, the bow 57 is carried by a rod 33 slidable in a tube 32 secured at the end of the car, inside or outside. The rod 33 is connected to links 35 carrying a cross arm 40 engaged by a. spring 41. In Fig. 7, the rod 46 is carried by a shearable pin in a ntting 49 which slides in a slot in the side of the car and is coupled to links 50. The bow 57 is maintained erect by springs 62, 63.
