Abstract

356,750. Transformers. KOCH & STERZEL AKT.-GES., 40, Zwickauerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. June 6, 1930, No. 17611. Convention date, June 7, 1929. Addition to 356,693. [Class 38 (ii).] Relates to a modification of the voltage transformer for use on high tension circuits described in theparent Specification and consists in the high tension winding being placed on two spools 11, 11a, Fig. 1, mounted concentrically on the core 13 ; the outer ends of the winding are connected together and the connections from the inner layers brought out through insulators 17, 17a. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the primary winding 14 is mounted directly on the core and the outer ends of the high-tension windings, the core, the casing and the metallized surface of the spools earthed. Alternatively the primary winding may be in two portions mounted outside the high voltage winding on the two spools and therefrom separated by strips of insulating material. In the form shown in Fig. 3 the transformer is suspended from an insulator 52 and the inner end of the inner hightension winding earthed, the core and casing being at a potential intermediate earth and the high-voltage line. The primary is mounted on the inner spool adjacent the earth inner end of the secondary. In a modification, Fig. 4, of this the inner spool has two insulators 54, 55 which form supports. In a further modification of this the feet are on the outer spool. Specification 356,746 is referred to.
