Abstract

356,354. Weft-feeler arrangements for stopping looms. SLINGER, W., 10, Wilson Street, Foulridge, near Colne, Lancashire. June 30, 1930, No. 19768. [Class 142 (i).] A device for stopping the loom slightly before the weft on the cop is exhausted comprises an iron bracket Dl to which are pivoted spring-controlled levers E2, B, and in which slides a spring-controlled . rod D2 adapted to be pressed back by engagement with the weft on the cop and to move a catch A adjustably mounted thereon out of the path of a depending catch on the lever B. Normally, the lever E2 is turned by a bumper K1 on the lay and a loose catch F1, Fig. 5, engages beneath a pin F2, and turns the lever B. If there is sufficient weft on the cop, the catch A is pushed back to allow the .lever to resume the position shown in Fig. 1, and on the return movement of the lay, the catch F1 rides idly over the top of the pin F2. If, however, the weft is substantially exhausted, the catch A remains to the left and causes the lever B to remain in the position shown in Fig. 3, and a rod G2 on the lever B allows connections to the weft fork or weft hammer to fall into position for stopping the loom.
