Abstract
514,357. Weft stop-motions for looms. DIEDERICHS, LES FILS DE G. Jan. 28, 1938, No. 2713. Void. Convention date, March 31, 1937. [Class 142 (i)] A cam 21 on the low shaft 22 through a lever 17 and a resilient rod connection 16 oscillates a shaft 13 carried by the lay 2. This shaft carries an arm 12, which operates through a rod 8 to lift the centre weft fork 3. The shaft 13 also carries a cam 30 adapted when in one position to engage a roller 29 on a lever 24 pivoted on the lay and to rock the same against the action of a spring 28. When weft is present the fork 3 descends until its connected finger 23 reaches the position shown in Fig. 8 when the lever 24 can be oscillated to raise its arm, 43 above the nose of a cam drum 31 pivoted on the loom frame. When weft is absent the finger 23 engages the gap b in the lever 24 as shown in Fig. 6 and the lever 24 is arrested with its finger 43 in a position to turn to drum 31 and move the lever 33 which releases the starting handle of the loom.
