Abstract

Halogenated fatty acid amides, having more than eight carbon atoms in the molecule, and which may contain hydroxy groups and/or double bonds are treated with solutions of ammonia in organic solvents. In an example, a tetrachlorinated derivative of oleic acid ethylanilide, prepared according to the process of Specification 336,623, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], is heated in an autoclave with an alcoholic solution of ammonia. The products are similar to those of the process of the parent Specification.
