Abstract
293,438. L³decke, K. July 8, 1927, [Convention date]. Trimethylamineglycol monoborate is prepared by adding boric a,cid to an aqueous solution of trimethylamineglycol in the proportion of at least one but less than three molecules of boric acid to one of trim&thyla.mineglycol, concentrating, in vacuo when one molecule of boric acid is used, and treating the syrup with solvents in which it is insoluble, for example, acetone. The syrup can also be dissolved in alcohol and then treated with acetone &c., or an alcoholic solution may be used as initial material. Examples of the three methods are given, acetone being added in each case.
