Abstract
354,659. Spectroscopes. ZEISS, C., [Firm of], Carl Zeiss-Strasse, Jena, Germany. Dec. 1, 1930, No. 36114. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1929. [Class 97 (i).] In a spectroscope having a dispersion prism and provided near the slit with a wave-length scale which is seen together with the spectrum, the scale is seen by reflection in a surface of the prism through which the light forming the spectrum does not pass. The casing a of the spectroscope has at one end the observation opening b and contains at the other end a sleeve c in which is mounted a magnifier d, the end surface of the sleeve, which is in the focal plane of the lens d, having in it a slit e and a window f. A glass plate g is mounted behind the said surface and is marked with a wave-length scale which is illuminated by the window f. The spectrum is produced by an Amici prism i and the wave-length scale is seen by reflection in the surface k of the prism, this surface being silvered. A screen l is provided to prevent the scale from being seen directly.
