Abstract
211,168. Perrin, J. B., and Marcelin, A. J. Feb. 12, 1923, [Convention date]. Telescopes are constructed with a fixed eyepiece and an objective which can be oriented in any direction, the light beam being transmitted from the obiective to the eyepiece along the axes of rotation by prisms or mirrors. The objective tube 10, Fig. 1, has two axes of rotation. The eyepiece 2 is mounted so that the telescope may rotate about its axis and carries a reflecting prism 4 provided on its opposite face with a tube 8, into which fits a similar tube connected to a prism 9. The latter prism is secured to the inner end of the objective tube 10. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a telescope in which the objective tube may rotate about three axes mutually at right angles, Fig. 4 (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
