Abstract
236,111. Szepessy, J. Dec. 17, 1924. Tacheometers.-In a tacheometer in which the altitude circle is divided according to the tangents of angles of elevation, so as to avoid the necessity for reducing the readings to the horizontal, an image of the scale is projected into the field of the observing telescope. An image of the scale 4, arranged round the periphery of the circle 5, is projected into the field of the telescope 2 by a microscope 16 and reflecting prisms 14, 15, which are so arranged that the plane determined by the broken optical axis x - - x passes through the axis of rotation of the circle 5. The edge 17 of the prism 15 forms a dividing line between the image of the scale and that of the observed staff.
