Abstract

389,773. Telescopes. ZEISS, C., [Firm of], Carl-Zeiss-Strasse, Jena, Germany. Nov. 14, 1932, No. 32106. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1931. [Class 97 (i).] In a telescope for observing strong sources of light, at least one surface of an optical member of the telescope is frosted so that some of the rays pass through the said surface and some are diffusely dispersed. Preferably the frosting is formed on the surface e of a converging lens d which can be inserted through a slot in the tube a so as to be included at will in the optical system, this lens having such thickness and power that the position of the image plane of the objective b is not altered when it is inserted in the ray path.
