[Class 97 (i).] In a microscope in which the rays from the objective are deflected rearwardly by a prism 5 and are then received by a dividing prism system for binocular vision, the prism 5 is mounted in a tube or body 10 which is separate from the body 8 carrying the dividing system and the oculars 4, so that a monocular body can be substituted for the binocular body and used with the same deflecting-prism.
