Abstract

202,023. Leitz, E. May 9, 1922. Optical systems; microscopes.- A stereoscopic double microscope is provided with a pair of convergently-directed objectives A, A' arranged in conjunction with a pair of parallel eyepieces B, B'. An image erecting prism system is fitted between each objective and its respective eyepiece comprising reflecting prisms C, C<1>, each with a roof edge, and prisms as shown, having a totally-reflecting surface and a reflecting roof edge, the arrangement giving an erect image. The prisms C, C<1> are relatively adjustable to suit the observer's interpupillary distance, and the entering and emerging rays are at an angle with each other.
