Abstract

354,122. Steam superheaters. GEOGHEGAN, E. A., 63, Wall Street, New York, U.S.A., and MACPHEE, A., 442, Bush House, Aldwych, London. Oct. 22, 1930, No. 31719. Addition to 352,669. [Class 123 (iii).] The superheater coil arranged in the combustion chamber 4 of a return-tube boiler and formed with projecting bends as described in the parent Specification has a portion 10a of its turns on one side of a vertical plane containing the inlet and outlet 10, 11, and another portion 11a on the other side of the vertical plane, the two portions being connected by a bend 6a extending over the coil. The coil is connected to horizontal inlet and outlet headers 12, 18, which are connected to the boiler as previously described and which may have additional connections 26, 30 for the supply and delivery of auxiliary steam.
