Abstract

350,201. Tents or awnings combined with motor vehicles. CROOKE, C. E., Tarnpirr, St. Fillan, Victoria, Australia. May 19, 1930, No. 15341. [Class 20 (i).] A collapsable tent frame is fitted to a motor-car in such a manner that the vehicle may be moved freely from place to place without the necessity of collapsing the tent frame. A cantilever arm 3 with depending arms 4 is fitted to the upper edge of a door and another similar arm is adapted to be supported by the other door, or from the roof or hood frame ; in the two latter cases inclined struts are also fitted from the running board. The arms are stayed apart by struts 6, 6a at the extremities of the arms, and in some cases further diagonal .stays 34 between the arms and struts may be used. The tent fabric is stretched on the frame and is detachably secured to the roof at 12 and pegged to the ground at 16. It is provided with a fly 13 inside the entrance flaps 8 and a rear screen 17, which may be rolled up when not required. The arms and struts may be formed in detachable sections.
