Abstract
A mould for casting concrete or like material is lined with bitumen sheeting. The sheeting preferably has a ribbed or grained surface and is cut into sections so that it can be made to fit the mould walls closely. In casting artificial stone the lined walls may be splashed with a wash of loam-sand and water, to give a veined effect, and are then given a half-inch coating of a compound containing 3 1/2 parts of loam-sand to one part of cement. The mould is then filled up with a compound containing 4 parts of fine ballast to one part of cement.
