336,218. Reeser, H. June 4, 1929. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Skating rinks.-Artificial ice skating rinks are formed by casting blocks of materials in lined moulds so that smooth surfaces are produced on the blocks which are then inverted and set on to a reinforced foundation and joined together. The foundation is prepared by covering the floor with wooden laths on which is laid wire netting, and covering with the molten substance of which the blocks are formed. The material used for the floor comprises 70 per cent hyposulphite of soda and 30 per cent of borax with a small quantity of alum. The surface may be covered with a soap and stearine preparation to prevent damage.
