Abstract
346,970. Vehicle door locks. BUNN, C. W., 1, Herbert Street, West Bromwich. .March 29, 1930, No. 10100. [Class 44.] In a latch for vehicle &c. doors in which the latch-bolt 3 may be withdrawn by an outside handle (not shown) on a spindle 19 operating a follower 17, or by an inside handlelever 12 acting directly on the bolt, the bolt may be locked against withdrawal by the outside handle by means of a lever 20, the nose 22 of which is caused to engage behind a shoulder 7 on the bolt by moving lever 12 in a direction the reverse of that in which it is normally operated to withdraw the bolt. This movement causes a pin 26 on lever 12 to ride over a tooth 24 on lever 20 into register with a notch 27, allowing the nose 22 to engage shoulder 7 under the action of a spring 25. The lower end 14 of lever 12 is necked and rounded, and mounted in a spring bearing-member 15 as described in Specification 341,787. In place of the pin 26, a shoulder may be provided by reducing the thickness of the lower portion of the lever.
