Abstract
346,533. Combined boiler and lowtemperature distillation retort. JOHNSON, J. Y., 47, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London. -(I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges. ; Frankfort-on-Main, Germany.) Feb. 28, 1930, No. 6696. [Classes 51 (i) and 55 (i).] In apparatus for heating a low-temperature distillation retort b, and a steam boiler a with the same heating gas, the retort is so placed that the heating gases from the furnace e successively heat a part f of the boiler, the retort b, and another part of the tubular boiler, before passing into the flue l. The coke is transferred by a bucket wheel c and slide d to the furnace grate e. By this arrangement the temperature of the furnace gases is suitably reduced before they reach the retort.
