Gaseous-fuel furnaces. - For heating steam boilers a gas composed of a mixture of blast furnace gas or other feebly luminous gas with hydrocarbons such as tar, oil or other gases is employed so that heating by radiation is obtained. The blast furnace gas may be heated prior to the addition of the hydrocarbons.
