345,984. Pipe joints. FOUCAULT, J., 20, Krakowska Ulica, Myslowice, Haute Silesie, Poland. Nov. 22, 1929, No. 35844. Convention date, April 25. [Class 99 (i).] In a joint of the kind in which two nuts 7, 8 engage the threaded ends of the pipes and a flange 10 on the nut 7 engages a recess in the nut 8, the depth of the flange and recess are equal so as to ensure a rigid joint when the pipe ends are drawn together on to the packing ring 24. The nut 8 is cut away so that the nuts can be brought together, projections 9 on the flange engaging grooves 12 in the nut 8. The projections and grooves are out of register when the joint is tightened. In another form the member 8 is in two parts 18, 19, Fig. 7, the parts being screwed together at 20 until the flange 10 on the nut 7 is held between the flanges 20, 21 on the two parts. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 3172/91, 10085/96, 17750/05, [all in Class 99, Pipes &c.]. and 117,434, [Class 99 (i), Pipes and tubes, Joints &c. for].
