Abstract

345,364. Sparking-plugs; cylinders supplying air for inflating tyres. ROCHER, M., Cenon, Vienne, France. Dec. 30, 1929, No. 39809. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1928. Addition to 342,328. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iv).] A sparking-plug is combined with the device described in the parent Specification for supplying air for inflating tyres, by mounting, in an outer part 10, a porcelain insulator 47 of a nickel-chrome steel electrode 48 ; an inner part 1, which is screwed into the cylinder, provides the other electrode 49. The device is brought into action by unscrewing an annular extension 32 of the part 10 until a part 33 seats on a part 34; this opens a valve 50 and enables the cylinder to act as a pump, ball suction and delivery valves being arranged as shown. A lug 38 having a horizontal hole 39 is provided for rotation of the member 10 and a set-screw engaging the cylinder head prevents rotation of the part 1. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also replacing the suction valves by spring-pressed poppet valves, or steel plate valves ; when an ordinary sparking-plug is used, alternative means for putting suction valves out of action comprise a plug valve 29, Fig. 9 (Cancelled), which can be screwed on to a seating 28 to close a passage 27, or a face on to which the sparking-plug can be screwed. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
