Abstract
364,928. Cylinder attachments for inflating tyres; sparking-plugs. ROCHER, M., Cenon, Vienne, France. March 6, 1931, No. 7040. Convention date, March 20, 1930. Addition to 342,328. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iv).] The device, described in the parent Specification, for enabling a cylinder to be utilized for inflating tyres i s combined with a sparking-plug and provided with an axial cap member for putting it into action. The plug insulator 83 is mounted on a sleeve 82 having flats 84 and a screw thread 86 ; normally a packing 91 is pressed against a seating on the plug body 78. The cap member comprises a casing 92 having bayonet slots 98 for engagement with pins 79 on the plug body 78 and a key 96 which engages the flats 84 and on rotation withdraws the insulator 83 until tight joints are made at 100, 101. Air is then drawn into the cylinder through orifices 80 and an annular valve 81, and delivered through passage 85 and a valve 94. In a modification, members 92, 96 are omitted, the flats 84 being rotated by a spanner, and the air is delivered through passages in the insulator to a delivery valve in the cap member, coaxial with the plug ; the high-tension lead may in this case be connected below the delivery valve. Specifications 345,364 and 346,199 are also referred to.
