343,221. Vehicle lamps. DIKANSKY, L., 9, Via Podgora, Milan, Italy. Dec. 5, 1929, No. 37378. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv).] Supporting ; mounting electric lamps in lanterns.- A headlight for motor vehicles emits three distinct light pencils, one forwardly and the other two laterally in substantially opposite directions, all confined below a horizontal plane passing through the source of light. Light from the lamp 10 is thrown forwardly by the parabolic reflector 6 and laterally through windows 12 by the reflector 11 which consists of two identical halves with the intersecting portions curved inwardly. The top part 13 of the lamp bulb is made reflecting. Confocal with the reflector 6 is mounted a convergent lens 7. A removable clamp 15 carrying the lamp holder 14 is in the form of an inverted V-shaped yoke which bears the dome 17 and the base of each arm of which engages with a bolt 20 which passes through the top of the casing 5, so that the lamp with the dome may be removed for inspection purposes. A flexible lead is wound about the clamp 15 by the screw cap 16. The casing 5 is pivoted at 24 and adjusted in position by the screw 26, a helical spring being compressed between the member 25 and the plate 22, which is fastened to the radiator of the vehicle by a bolt 21.
